Job Summary

A Mid-Level (Physician Assistant/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) Otolaryngology Providers main role is covering call for the hospital and providing administrative support to the providers. This provider will work with physicians and managers to provide care for patients with ENT conditions. Under minimal supervision the mid-level provider will work to provide high quality efficient integrated continuous and cost-effective care to patients. This role will report to the Medical Director.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of theMID-LEVEL (PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE) OTOLARYNGOLOGY PROVIDER with Call Coverage

  • Respond to daytime consultations from the hospital.

**Take hospital call from 8:00AM 5:00PM Monday- Friday.

**Have rotating weekend hospital call- 8:00am - noon on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Triage for the practice supporting the providers with patient callbacks prescription refills and other admin functions as needed.
  • Partner with Medical Director related to all clinical protocols.
  • Conduct a complete ENT exam.
  • Perform minor procedures (laryngoscopy nasal endoscopy drain abscesses epistaxis control).
  • Coordinate and execute patient treatment plans.
  • Work cooperatively with the ENT clinic staff.
  • Teach and train staff in the office.
  • Provide care to children as well as adults.
  • Oversee the following:

**Allergy clinic.

**Diagnosis and treatment of patients with allergy conditions.

**Administration of allergy tests skin tests and pulmonary function tests.

**Education of patients on allergy management and prevention.

**Order appropriate diagnostic testing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS of theMID-LEVEL (PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE) OTOLARYNGOLOGY PROVIDER with Call Coverage

  • Physician Assistant (P.A.) with valid license OR Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with valid license
  • Certificate for a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to see all ages (preferred)
  • ENT experienced (2 years minimum)
  • Endoscopy experience
  • Be energetic compassionate and self-motivated
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with PC-based computer skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY of theMID-LEVEL (PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE) OTOLARYNGOLOGY PROVIDER with Call Coverage

This position requires supervision of the allergy clinic.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS of theMID-LEVEL (PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE) OTOLARYNGOLOGY PROVIDER with Call Coverage

Current license as a Physician Assistant or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Maryland and aCertificate for a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
