Main Purpose of Job

TheMaryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) seeks a Chief III tomanage the collection and dissemination of financial and supplemental data forthe Commission. The HSCRC a state agency regulates hospital services qualityand cost relying on comprehensive data from acute care rehabilitation andpsychiatric hospitals to inform its oversight. The hospital data is crucial forvalidating Commission policies ensuring hospital compliance monitoringindustry trends and developing effective healthcare strategies. The positionplays a key role in maintaining one of the nations most robust hospital datasources.

The HSCRC Chief III Financial Data Administration position works closely with the Associate Director of Healthcare DataAdministration to manage the day-to-day operations of collecting anddisseminating financial and supplemental data from all HSCRC-regulatedhospitals. This includes assisting with the development and implementation ofanalytics to monitor the quality of data submitted from hospitals; managing andprocessing data requests from internal and external customers; drafting new andmodify existing reporting requirements; and communicating with hospitalsregarding financial data deadlines and addition the incumbent collaborates withother Healthcare Data Management and Integrity team members to maintain HSCRCdata retention/destruction policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university indata science statistics healthcare administration finance accounting ora related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience working with HSCRC financial and/or supplemental hospital data. Knowledge of HSCRC hospital rate setting or auditing policies preferred.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess excellent quantitative and written communication skills as well as a collegial approach and the ability to lead projects and supervise a diverse team of professionals.
