Job Summary

Position Description:

Join CGIs Middleware team as a Middleware Architect / Cloud Integrator focused on middleware modernization and migrations. This role combines hands-on middleware engineering with architecture-level thinking: youll design and validate migration approaches produce pragmatic runbooks and act as the technical authority for middleware components during cloud adoption and hybrid operations. We value deep practical middleware expertise over pure enterprise-architecture credentials a strong technical background with demonstrated middleware delivery experience is ideal.

Were looking for a pragmatic hands on middleware specialist who can translate deep product knowledge into migration-ready designs and operational guidance. This role suits a technically strong practitioner who can also engage at an architectural level when required someone comfortable working within a staff augmentation model to support client teams directly.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Lead technical design and migration approaches for middleware components (lift and shift replatform containerization options) and produce clear actionable runbooks.
- Deliver product-focused technical walkthroughs proof of concepts and migration validation for middleware stacks.
- Define operational requirements reliability targets security controls and rollback/drain plans for migrations.
- Collaborate with Architects Cloud Integrators networking security DBAs and application teams to validate migration constraints and integration points.
- Provide hands on implementation support during migrations including configuration deployment automation performance tuning and cutover activities.
- Build/maintain infrastructure-as-code templates CI/CD pipelines and automation to support repeatable deployments.
- Establish monitoring logging and alerting patterns for middleware in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation runbooks and knowledge transfer artifacts for staff augmentation and client teams.
- Mentor middleware administrators and act as the escalation point for complex middleware incidents during migration and steady state.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

-5 years hands-on middleware engineering experience with at least 1-2 of the technologies listed below the more technologies you have worked with the stronger the fit.
- Demonstrated experience designing or executing middleware migrations or major upgrades (non-prod proof of concept through production cutover).
- Strong troubleshooting performance tuning and operational automation skills.
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows server administration.
- Scripting proficiency (PowerShell Python Shell or similar) for automation.
- Experience across multiple middleware products such as
Apache Tomcat Apache HTTP Server PEGA Ansible Tower IBM DataPower (ESB / XML Gateway) WebSphere MQ WebMethods JBoss (including NetRate GuideWire Billing Center PASUI ActiveVos GB&T) WebLogic Oracle Reports ECM (Content Manager Content Navigator eDiscovery Manager CMOD) DC2 ISOPS GBT Apache Nexus Rmtools.
- Cloud platform experience with preference for Google Cloud knowledge (GCE GKE IAM Load Balancing Cloud Monitoring).
- Containerization and orchestration exposure (Kubernetes / OpenShift) and experience evaluating when containerization is appropriate for middleware.
- Infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD experience (Terraform Ansible Jenkins/GitLab CI).
- Experience with security/compliance controls for middleware and enterprise governance.
- Prior staff augmentation or client-facing consulting experience.
- ITIL certification or experience in IT service management processes.
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset

- Practical experience with middleware integration patterns SSL/TLS authentication/authorization and common enterprise integration points (DB MQ REST/SOAP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to explain technical trade-offs and produce clear runbooks

-Bachelors degree in Information Technology or relevant field and or equivalent experience.
