Our client a respected public sector organization in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team based in St. Johns.
This keypermanent role is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the organizations financial position through budgeting analysis and reporting. Its an excellent opportunity for a focused accounting professional to contribute to financial management investment oversight and meaningful purpose-driven work.
Key Responsibilities for the Role:
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts
- Maintain and oversee the fixed asset tracking system and related controls
- Develop and analyze financial models to support planning and decision-making
- Collaborate with accounting management and stakeholders on financial processes and audits
- Prepare and contribute to financial and statistical reports for management and accountability
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Bachelor of Commerce degree supplemented by a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial statement preparation and financial/statistical analysis
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills both written and verbal
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative working relationships across departments
- Effective problem-solving and adaptability skills in a dynamic environment
