Position Summary
As an experienced Extrusion Mechanical Engineer youll play a vital part in helping our customers with their manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that project specifications are met engineered designs for extrusion equipment are implemented and serve as a trusted resource for customers. The Extrusion Mechanical Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally to drive growth and transformation.
This role reports directly to the Vice President.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare layout assembly and detail drawings to company specifications.
- Promote meticulous attention to detail maintaining drawing control and revision history through SolidWorks vault software.
- Provide a complete bill of materials for all assemblies.
- Implement procedures for cross check and redundant review of all drawings.
- Familiarize and follow established ISO procedures for drawing control.
- Ensure engineering is delivered on time to job and project folders.
- Prepare and maintain detail drawings to company specifications.
- Understand all technical documentation and assist in its preparation (manuals).
- Represent engineering on cross-functional teams for both pre and post design review.
- Perform internal machine assembly and checkout as necessary.
- Work in lab or with customer trials as necessary.
- Travel as required to provide installation assistance and customer troubleshooting and ensuring customer is qualified/prepared to operate our equipment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 years of manufacturing and extrusion related experience is highly preferred.
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred).
- Excellent computer proficiency.
- Ability to work with vendors customers and employees.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both with internal and external customers.
- Ability to observe and maintain a safe work environment and work as part of a team.
- Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution.
- Conducts self professionally. Believes in continuous improvement both at the company and individual level.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints safety rules operation and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Written and oral communication skills are a must.
- Excellent mathematical analytical problem solving skills.
