The School of Nursing at Boise State University invites applications for three full-time faculty positions in Nursing. These are open-rank (Assistant or Associate Professor) and open-track (Tenure or Clinical) positions. Appointment rank and track will be determined based on the candidates teaching experience scholarly record and professional contributions. Tenure-track candidates must meet the Universitys tenure-eligibility requirements. We are open to various Nursing specialties and areas of focus.
The ideal start date for these positions is August 2026. These positions are location-specific to the Boise State University campus and require in-person pre-license BS program teaching.
Clinical Faculty will focus primarily on teaching students in both academic and clinical settings supervising clinical experiences and engaging in professionally related community service. While they may participate in research or scholarship activities they are not required to do so as part of their regular assignment.
Tenure-Track Faculty will teach conduct research develop a strong scholarly agenda in nursing or a closely related field and participate in service activities.
Candidates should be technologically competent and skilled in using technology to enhance student learning.
These positions primarily focus on teaching in thelearning lab simulation lab and clinical settings. The majority of instructional responsibilities will take place in these applied learning environments rather than in traditional didactic classrooms. As the program continues to expand opportunities for didactic teaching assignments may become available.
Workload will be determined at the time of appointment and varies by track:
Tenure-Track Faculty: Standard workload is 60% teaching 20% scholarship and 20% service.
Clinical Faculty: Standard workload is 80% teaching and 20% service typically equivalent to approximately 12 hours of combined didactic clinical lab and/or simulation instruction per semester.
Adjustments will be made based on research productivity coordination duties and service responsibilities as negotiated with the Director and approved by the Dean.

Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP): A program offered through the BS-DNP Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP): A program offered through the BS-DNP Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Masters Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a graduate nursing degree program
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Idaho or Nursing compact states by starting date of employment

Doctoral degree in nursing

Demonstrated potential for a strong research agenda in nursing including publications and evidence of pursuit of internal and external funding commensurate to rank
For Clinical Track:
Masters Degree in Nursing Education
Online or hybrid teaching experience
Experience teaching with simulation
Experience creating experiential learning activities in the skills lab
Ability to coordinate on-campus experiential learning courses
Undergraduate and/or Graduate level teaching experience
Clinical certifications demonstrating competency in a nursing specialty
For Tenure Track:
A defined area of research and evidence of scholarly dissemination
Demonstrated experience in teaching research and service
Online Hybrid or Simulation teaching experience
Clinical certifications demonstrating competency in a nursing specialty
