The Particle Technology laboratory in the School of Chemistry Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at Nanyang Technological University is looking for apostdoctoral research fellow to conduct research to develop validate and characterize a new class of conductive hydrogel intended for spinal cord injury therapy and other pharmaceutically-relevant applications (e.g. conductive hydrogel for drug delivery pharmaceutical dosage formulations). The role will focus on exploring new avenues to synthesize conductive hydrogels and exploring new therapeutic applications for conductive hydrogels. The role will also benchmark the newly-developed conductive hydrogels with the existing conductive hydrogels that are available in the literature and clinical market.
The laboratory is working in the cutting edge of drug delivery pharmaceutical engineering and sustainable manufacturing research. The key objective of the laboratory is to support efforts to advance research in the area of controlled drug delivery with specific focus on development validation and characterizations of new biodegradable and biocompatible hydrogels for pharmaceutical-relevant applications. - Perform literature review on conductive hydrogels and responsible for the novelty aspects of the research
- Perform laboratory synthesis and characterization of conductive hydrogels
- Mentored junior postgraduate and undergraduate student researchers
- Responsible for maintaining the laboratory safety and risks assessment
- Responsible for formulating a new project proposal focused on conductive hydrogels
- Responsible for writing editing and revising research manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering Material Science or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experiences after PhD
- Well-demonstrated publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Good written and oral communication skills
