Basic Function: | Specializes in monitoring student account activity with a focus on performing specific transactions or tasks involving the student account. Provides customer service to both internal and external customers on issues related to student accounts. Reports to Senior Manager Student Accounts or other designated supervisor. |

Examples of Duties: | Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following: Provides quality customer service and assures compliance with federal state and university regulations policies and procedures related to student accounts. Reviews monitors and analyzes student accounts with regard to tuition assessments financial aid auxiliary services and other student account activities. Reviews accounts of students who drop hours or withdraw from the university to identify and process anyfinancial aid or other student account adjustment in accordance with applicable federal/state regulations and/or third party and institutional policies. Reviews student accounts that have been assigned to the Ohio Attorney Generals office to determine if account adjustments (i.e. remove/apply registration holds address verification etc.) of outstanding and or delinquent accounts are needed. Completes credit balance evaluations for accounts and prepares required documentation for processing of refunds to students parents and/or third party agencies. Reconciles student agency and program accounts; ensures student and third party accounts are balanced billed and paid; utilizes spreadsheet and database software to analyze and interpret student accounts and other account information. Performs mathematical computations and processes and necessary adjustments to the student account as result of class schedule adjustments to ensure compliance with federal/state financial aid regulations and/or third party and institutional polices. Contacts internal and external customers agencies financial institutions and government agencies as needed to research and/or resolve discrepancies. Responds to telephone email and chat inquiries from agencies students parents faculty and staff. Advises departments regarding university and/or departmental policies and procedures. May prepare and mail statements invoices reminders and collection notices. Performs related duties as required. |

Minimum Qualifications: | High school diploma or the equivalent and one year experience in processing/administering financial related transactions or data analysis. Ability to work varied hours to include evenings and weekends during peak periods. License/Certification: Must successfully complete a nine-month probationary period. Knowledge Of: Accounting/bookkeeping principles including accounts receivable and/or collection policies and procedures Applicable laws and regulations Office practices policies and/or procedures Skill In: Operating an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for data entry review or retrieval Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software (i.e. spreadsheet software) * Managing time and resources and effectively balance multiple priorities Ability To: Detect accounting/bookkeeping errors resolve discrepancies and balance accounts Perform basic and intermediate mathematical computations (e.g. Add subtract multiply and divide whole numbers fractions and decimals calculate percentages and compute interest charges Apply policies and procedures Read and comprehend a variety of written material; to use proper research methods in gathering data; and to gather collate and classify information Analyze several pieces of information draw conclusions and make recommendations to supervisor or management Work independently with general supervision Effectively communicate and interact with university personnel and the public to exchange or convey information provide instructions resolve problems and receive work direction Maintain composure and professional attitude Prioritize and complete work tasks by deadlines Be discreet and maintain confidential information Access federal aid systems used by the office* |

Working Schedule: | Typical work schedule would be Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however schedule may include evenings and weekends during peak periods. |
