About the role:
MEC is seeking an experienced Mineral Resource Estimation and Valuations Manager to lead our MRE function while continuing to build MECs reputation as an industry leader in MRE and valuation work.
This is a role for a recognised technical expert who enjoys blending leadership client engagement and hands-on technical challenge. Some of your responsibilities will include:
Leading MECs national MRE & Valuations team ensuring excellence and consistency in all deliverables.
Deliver and review compliant Mineral Resource Estimates and Independent Valuation Reports (VALMIN).
Provide technical direction across estimation classification geostatistics and reporting compliance.
Represent MEC in client meetings audits and boardroom presentations ensuring technical defensibility and client satisfaction.
Mentor and develop the next generation of Competent Persons (CPs) and Qualified Persons (QPs) within the business.
Maintain a minimum three-month secured work pipeline while identifying new opportunities across studies transactions and exploration geology.
Oversee team financial performance including P&L management forecasting and profitability.
Contribute to MECs profile through conference participation publications and industry engagement.
About you:
As a key member of the management team you will leverage your expertise to expand the domestic and international presence of the MRE & Valuations team while ensuring a consistently secured work pipeline of at least three months.
Expert in resource geology and mineral resource estimation including leadership roles.
Proven client-facing experience and commercial acumen.
Recognised Competent Person (JORC) and/or Qualified Person (NI 43-101) status.
Strong track record in public reporting and independent valuations (VALMIN).
Broad exposure across commodities deposit styles and jurisdictions.
Tertiary qualifications in Geology or Geoscience (postgraduate studies in Geostatistics or Valuation are highly regarded).
Membership with AusIMM AIG or equivalent professional body.
