Job Summary

RSU 19 is looking for a full-time Bus Mechanic to maintain the school bus fleet and supporting equipment in a condition of operating so that full use of this equipment may be exercised at all times in carrying out the transportation and extra-curricular activities offered by the school district. Qualifications include:

High School Diploma or Vocational training at the post-secondary level; or
Demonstrated knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines powertrains and hydraulics as applies to heavy vehicles.
Demonstrated skills/competence for assigned responsibilities; welding experience helpful.
Must have or be able to obtain State Motor Vehicle Inspection License for school buses and Class A motor vehicles.
Must have own basic mechanics tools.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Directors may find appropriate or acceptable.
