Salary: Minimum $1978 per credit hour; subject to lecturer placement.

Schedule: Part Time

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Funding: General

Other Conditions: For placement into the lecturer pool beginning Spring 2026. Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Teach courses in the assigned subject area;
  2. Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress;
  3. Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes;
  4. Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations;
  5. Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area;
  6. Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week).
  7. Classes may be offered online evenings and/or weekends on campus at KapCC or at locations in the community.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Masters in any field AND2 years of experience in developing and delivering community health education programs; OR
  2. Masters in a health-related field of which 15 credits are in Community Health; OR
  3. Bachelors in any field AND 5 years experience in developing & delivering community health education programs; OR
  4. Bachelors in a health-related field of which 15 credits are in Community Health AND 3 years of experience in developing & delivering community health education programs.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Five or more years of work experience as a community health worker or working on a team with community health workers.
  2. Instructional work experience at the community college level or work experience instructing adult learners.
  3. Work experience related to community-based participatory research advocacy counseling for change or community case management.
  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
  5. Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction.
