CK Group are recruiting for a Calibration Technician to join a global materials manufacturing company based near Wigan on a full time permanent basis.
The Company:Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for the architectural automotive and technical sectors. They strive to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Calibration Technician to join their Thin Film Resource Group within the R&D Function and are offering a salary ranging from 24000 - 32000 depending on experience.
Location:The Calibration Technician position will be based at the companys site near Wigan easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool Ormskirk Skelmersdale and Manchester.
Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the companys location.
Calibration Technician Role:Your main duties will be:
- Calibrating operating and maintaining lab coating and testing equipment.
- Investigating new coatings applied through Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD).
- Conducting durability tests and preparing samples.
- Measuring various physical properties of coated glass.
- Developing new coated products and processes.
Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Educated to BTEC/HNC/apprenticeship level - these are strongly preferred over a degree-level education for this role.
- Experience working in a laboratory - essential.
- Driving licence and access to car - essential.
