D-Orbit is seeking a FPGA Engineer to join our Electrical and Electronic Engineering team.
As FPGA Engineer you are responsible for the full development including requirement analysis architectural and detailed design of the FPGA subsystem as part of the digital electronics.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Design implement and verify FPGA architectures for space systems (payload control data acquisition communication and interface modules).
- Define FPGA requirements and specifications based on system-level and mission-level constraints.
- Lead FPGA verification and validation activities including testbench development simulation campaigns and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
- Participate in design reviews documentation and configuration management throughout the FPGA development lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in VHDL for RTL design.
- Experience with Microchip Libero SoC Design Suite.
- Experience with hardware verification simulation tools (ModelSim) and scripting (Python TCL).
- Experience with high-speed interfaces (SpaceWire SPI UART AXI DDR LVDS).
- Master Degree in Computer Science Electronics Engineering Telecommunications Engineering or similar
- At least 5 years relevant experience in FPGA embedded processing and digital electronics development in an industrial environment preferably in defence or aerospace business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ECSS standard for FPGA developments.
- Knowledge of radiation effects and mitigation techniques (SEU SEL TMR EDAC).
- Modeling of processing blocks in Matlab/Simulink for verification and validation activities.
- Experience with hardware testing logic analysers and signal integrity analysis.
