Job Summary:

The Development Director / Contract & Policy Administrator at Ability Plus Inc. plays a key leadership role in supporting the organizations mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals with special needs. This position leads fundraising and partnership development efforts while ensuring compliance with all internal policies contractual obligations and regulatory standards. The role combines strategic development planning with meticulous oversight of contracts and organizational policies ensuring sustainability transparency and operational excellence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Development & Fundraising (50%)

  • Develop implement and manage a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy that aligns with the mission of Ability Plus Inc.
  • Research write and submit grant proposals to foundations corporations and government agencies supporting programs for individuals with special needs.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors partners and community stakeholders to strengthen engagement and financial support.
  • Plan and oversee fundraising campaigns events and donor recognition initiatives that highlight the impact of Ability Plus Inc.
  • Collaborate with leadership to produce annual impact reports and other materials showcasing program achievements and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and donor communications using the organizations donor management system.

Contracts & Policy Administration (50%)

  • Draft review and maintain all contracts memoranda of understanding and service agreements related to vendors partners and funding sources.
  • Monitor compliance with contract terms renewals and reporting requirements associated with funding or service delivery.
  • Ensure organizational policies are current compliant with state and federal regulations and aligned with nonprofit best practices.
  • Coordinate with department heads and leadership to communicate and implement policy updates effectively.
  • Manage contract documentation and policy archives ensuring accessibility and confidentiality.
  • Provide oversight on risk management and assist leadership in developing compliance and ethics procedures.

Education/Background/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Nonprofit Management Public Administration or related field (Masters preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit development grant writing contract management or related administrative roles.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing grants and donor relationships.
  • Understanding of nonprofit governance funding regulations and disability services preferred.
  • Strong organizational analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite donor management systems and document management software.

This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional travel required for meetings site visits or fundraising events. The Development Director / Contract & Policy Administrator works closely with the executive leadership team and community partners to support the programs and services of Ability Plus Inc.
