Under the supervision of the Director of Radiology the Medical Director and Cardiologists the Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Cardiology is tasked with ensuring the care and safety of patients undergoing cardiac ultrasound procedures.
This position requires proficiency in the utilization of ultrasound equipment to execute high-quality cardiac ultrasound examinations which encompass stress echocardiograms and transesophageal ultrasound studies.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Conducting ultrasound examinations to obtain cardiac images for diagnostic assessment.
- Preparing patients for procedures and providing comprehensive explanations regarding the process.
- Ensuring that all equipment is functional and maintained in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborating effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support treatment plans.
- Documenting patient information and sustaining accurate medical records.
- Remaining informed about industry advancements and best practices to enhance patient care continually.
**Qualifications:**
- An Associates or Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related discipline is required.- ARDMS or CCI certification in Cardiac Sonography is mandatory.
**Certification Requirements:**
- ARDMS certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
