Metras Engineering Department is staffed with over 800 employees who work tirelessly applying technology and engineering principles in the design construction operation and management of our network of infrastructure facilities and equipment so that customers can enjoy a safe comfortable economical and dependable transit experience.
Reporting directly to the DC Supervisor the D.C. Electrician Apprentice is responsible for assisting electricians with construction testing inspection installation maintenance removal and operation of the 1500-volt DC overhead catenary system and underground electrical feeders in manholes.
This is a three-year apprentice training program that includes classroom instruction and on-the-job training with an experienced Journeyman Electrician.
This is a Union position. Starting pay rates may vary based on entry rates in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
