Job Summary

"Enterprise Architect
Location - Toronto (requires at least 2 days at onsite)

Role Overview
The Enterprise Architect (EA) will be responsible for defining and maintaining the organizations technology strategy ensuring alignment with business goals in the utilities sector. The role requires deep domain knowledge in energy distribution transmission metering asset management and customer service platforms along with a strong grasp of emerging technologies such as SAP S/4HANA SAP IS-U cloud platforms (Azure AWS) and data analytics solutions.
The EA will collaborate with business operations and IT teams to design scalable secure and future-ready solutions that enable digital transformation and operational excellence across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap aligning business strategy with IT initiatives for the utility domain.
Define architecture principles standards and governance models for all technology domains applications data infrastructure and security.
Lead solution design and ensure consistency across major programs such as smart metering asset management (Maximo/SAP PM) billing (SAP IS-U/CRM) GIS and field mobility.
Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational needs (e.g. outage management work management regulatory reporting) into technology strategies.
Evaluate and recommend modern platforms including cloud-native IoT AI/ML and data analytics solutions for predictive maintenance and customer engagement.
Oversee integration architecture for connecting OT (Operational Technology) and IT environments.
Support governance forums and architecture review boards (ARB) to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
Collaborate with vendors and system integrators to ensure solution design adheres to enterprise guidelines.
Mentor solution architects and technical leads on architecture best practices and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Experience
1015 years of experience in IT with at least 5 years as an Enterprise or Solution Architect in the utility industry (power gas or water).
Strong understanding of utility business processes such as metering billing outage management and field operations.
Expertise in architecture frameworks (TOGAF Zachman or equivalent).
Proven experience with cloud architecture (Azure/AWS) API/Microservices design and data architecture.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity.
Excellent communication stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications
TOGAF Azure/AWS Certified Architect or SAP Certified Technology Architect."
