Responsibilities will include:
This position is responsible for providing in-court support and case processing for Domestic Violence (DV) court operations. Duties include setting up organizing and maintaining the courtroom including operation and troubleshooting of recording equipment. The role involves preparing and managing case files and paperwork coordinating the movement of litigants and court personnel calling court to order administering oaths and maintaining proper courtroom decorum. The employee logs court proceedings accurately using both electronic and written methods identifies and secures exhibits and ensures all records documents and materials are properly completed and distributed at the conclusion of proceedings.
Additional responsibilities include processing DV case motions reviewing documents for compliance with statutes and court rules ensuring required filings and notarizations are complete notifying parties of deficiencies and preparing docket entries and distributions after rulings. The position also assists in training new employees maintains courtroom security and supplies and ensures accurate flow of documents orders and information to all relevant parties and agencies.
What hours will you work
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. This position may on occasion be scheduled to work nights or weekends depending upon department staffing needs.

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.
OR
A bachelors degree from an accredited college.
