The Land Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing interpreting and visualizing land-related data to provide actionable insights that support exploration production acquisitions and divestitures. This role combines technical data skills with oil and gas land knowledge to improve decision-making optimize workflows and ensure accurate reporting across the organization.
The Land Data Analyst works closely with Land GIS Accounting Operations and IT teams to develop reporting tools manage data quality and deliver business intelligence solutions. This position reports to the Land Administration Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop maintain and optimize land data reporting tools dashboards and visualizations (e.g. Power BI Tableau Spotfire).
- Analyze leasehold ownership contract and surface data to support strategic decisions and operational planning.
- Partner with Land Administration and GIS to ensure data integrity and alignment between tabular and spatial datasets.
- Perform data validation cleansing and quality assurance to maintain accurate and reliable records in land management systems.
- Provide analytics support for acquisitions divestitures and due diligence efforts.
- Identify trends risks and opportunities within land data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT and Data teams to improve data architecture system integration and workflow automation.
- Support compliance and regulatory reporting by providing accurate and timely data analysis.
- Ensure accuracy consistency and quality of data across multiple land management and enterprise systems.
Required Experience & Education:
- Bachelors degree in Data Analytics Computer Science Energy Management Land Administration or related field.
- 5 years of progressive experience in oil and gas land data management analytics or data science.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL Python R or other programming languages for data analysis and automation.
- Strong experience with BI and visualization platforms (Power BI Tableau Spotfire etc.).
- Knowledge of land agreements lease provisions and regulatory requirements in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience working with large datasets and land management systems (Quorum Enverus or similar).
