Job Summary and Responsibilities

15% PRN Differential added to base rate!!

As an OB Tech on our team you will assist in smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery Recovery and Postpartum unit. May perform direct and indirect patient care including vitals hygiene measures and basic care for antepartum postpartum and newborn patients.

OB Techs functions include:

  • Assists with vaginal deliveries under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provider and within scope of practice.
  • Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment on the unit.
  • Assists with maintenance of Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment.
  • Performs clerical and business support tasks as assigned.
  • Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Scrub for C- Sections D&Cs.
  • Set up and take down instruments for vaginal deliveries.
  • Cleaning stocking and preparation of patient rooms.
  • Stocking of equipment and supplies.
  • Assisting RNs as required.
  • Additional secretarialduties per needs of unit. Answering phones door computer entry in EPIC Software program.

1 OR Suite (Separate from Main OR)

40 Births per month

Schedule: PRN-variable per surgicalvolume and current unit needs

Per policy PRN requires a Minavailability for 5 shifts in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holiday per year

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day qualified candidates will need the following:

  • One-year patient care experience preferred
  • Ability to read write speak and understand English
  • Basic computer skills
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Completion of a Surgical Tech program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Current Colorado Surgical Technologist Registration for associates working in Colorado
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
