Located in the Phoenix Ariz. suburb of Gilbert the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a 198-bed not-for profit hospital with more than 1300 team members and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major 2014 Phoenix Childrens Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. JOIN US NOW as we are seeking a dynamic ECHO TECH who is passionate about the health and well-being of our patients to provide excellent quality care while assisting with Cardiac procedures for patients at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.

Located in the Town of Gilbert Aza suburb of Phoenixthis position is critical to the success of Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission ofDignity Health.

Explains procedure to patient and/or family prior to and during examination
Obtains clinical history relevant to examination and consult with referring physician regarding appropriate ultrasonic procedure.
Selects proper controls on machine calibrates machine and performs Echocardiography examination of diagnostic quality visualizing and documenting as many cardiac structures as possible.
Utilizes ancillary devices (i.e.: cameras video records etc.) to obtain permanent record of examination.
Keeps equipment in good operating condition must have the ability to detect instrument malfunctions. Inspects and ensures proper maintenance and makes minor maintenance adjustments or reports the need for major repairs.
Selects tracings for Cardiologist interpretation. Tracings will be measured and calculated prior to submission to Cardiologist for interpretation.
Maintains department records including patient charts files tapes etc. as well as departmental statistical information.
Notifies Cardiologist of test(s) to be interpreted in a timely manner. Assists in maintaining 24-hour interpretation turn-around time. Notifies Cardiologist of any unusual or possibly-abnormal tracing that in the technologists opinion may need immediate attention.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma/GED or Higher Education and completion of an Echocardiography Program

American Heart Association-issued BLS card

ARDMS/RDCS or CCI/RCS required

PREFERRED:

One (1) year experience as an echocardiography sonographer
Pediatric and Structural heart experience
