Job Summary
Dreaming of the excitement of the NBA
The Penobscot Bay YMCA is looking for a dynamic community member to join us as Youth Basketball Staff to elevate the leadership of our youth basketball program. This is a part-time role approximately 5-10 hours per week through the basketball season; although we would be thrilled if someone wanted to stay on and help us develop additional youth sports programs!
What Youll Do:
In this role youll be working closely with our Director of Sports Camp and Afterschool Programming to get kids excited about this fun and fast-paced sport.
- Assist in running weekly practices and skills clinics
- Provide support during Saturday game days
- Help ensure a positive safe and fun experience for all players.
- Actively encourage sportsmanship teamwork and personal growth.

Qualifications
What Were Looking For:
- Must be at least 16 years old (18 preferred).
- Comfortable working with children and leading group activities.
- Knowledge of basketball rules and youth development principles is helpful but training is provided.
- Ability to communicate clearly work as part of a team and maintain a positive and supportive attitude.
- Must pass the State of Maine Criminal History Background Check and complete required YMCA trainings after hire (CPR/First Aid will be provided).

- Ability to actively participate in basketball drills and activities.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment (up to 40 lbs.).
