The Encore Boston Harbor Technician I&C will be responsible for all manner of Instrumentation and Controls commonly found at a Central Utility and Power plant hotel and Convention center below grade parking structures restaurant and retail facilities office buildings and boating & marine facilities. Including but not limited to; maintaining calibrating troubleshooting repairing modifying and installing Instrumentation and Controls located at the Encore Boston Harbor properties. This includes but is not limited to: maintaining processes scheduling and supporting department team members and maximizing opportunities for departmental success; maintaining all Encore Standards; and ensuring excellent guest and team member experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
Participates in short-and long-term departmental goals objectives policies and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement. Identifies key drivers of success.
Actively contributes to the departmental performance and the accuracy confidentiality and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; records and reports.
Verifies that all applicable internal policies federal and state laws rules regulations and controls property wide are enforced within the department.
Delivers and maintains a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction.
Contributes to company-wide communication and best practices.
Keeps informed of all new developments within the department.
Manages multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
Must have the ability to promote positive fair and ethical relations with all team members with all Encore contractors and in all interactions within the Host and Surrounding Communities as an ambassador of the Encore brand.
Maintains calibrates diagnoses repairs replaces or installs instrumentation and control systems SCADA and end devices. Including but not limited to; Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) Direct Digital Controls (DDC) plant or distributive control systems and instrument loops. Flow meters including but not limited to; Process ultrasonic magnetic vortex shedding anemometer pitot. other meters and devices including but not limited to; btu meters pressure transmitters temperature transmitters Humidity transmitters level transmitters (float ultrasonic radar and pressure etc.) air quality meters (gas meters) portable and stationary chemical PH electromechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Repair electrical systems control malfunctions of equipment such as transformers relays switches control generator monitoring and control systems medium and high voltage distribution systems and monitoring devices.
Maintain repairs replaces and installs Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Soft starters and Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs)
Works with Contractors and BAS technicians to ensure accurate communications to and from the Building Automation and Energy Management
Installs new electrical equipment as required.
Properly uses electric electronic and specialized test equipment and other similar tools.
Performs (with assistance as needed) the maintenance of equipment by cleaning adjusting tightening performing preventative or corrective maintenance and identifying equipment in need of corrective maintenance.
Writes submits and completes corrective work orders for approval.
Initiates purchase orders coordinates with and directs outside contractors as required to ensure completion of position responsibilities.
Performs medium and high voltage electrical system maintenance and or supervise outside contractors in the performance of such work including the development of work scope.
Performs routine generator electrical system test and inspections to the extent qualified and or supervise an outside contractor as required.
Operates and maintains a power generating facility equipment with minimal guidance or assistance.
Reads meters gauges or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment vibration of equipment hours of operation pressure and fluid levels water chemistry to verify operating conditions.
Keeps Lead on shift fully informed of unusual conditions and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations.
Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair facility equipment and ensure equipment is operated within operating range.
Fully supports the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System by displaying a proficiency in using the system and dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy. Performs CMMS data entry and work order close-out in a thorough and timely fashion.
Starts and stops equipment opens and closes valves in the facility as directed by and in coordination with the lead.
Opens and closes circuit breakers as required for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
Performs capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by the FM.
Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of work.
Coordinates I&C work with contractors as necessary.
Updates drawings and prints as required.
Supports Maintenance Manager in planning and scheduling duties especially as related to outages.
Performs instrument calibrations as part of the electrical and instrumentation team. Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Age Gaming and Certifications:
21 years of age or above.
Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License required
Certification as control systems technician such as that obtained through the International Society of Automation (ISA) or other process control certifications is preferred
VFD manufacturers certification preferred
Valid Massachusetts Driver License Preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
High school or equivalent required. Successful completion of an apprenticeship vocational/trade or college courses required. Minimum of 5-7 years of electrical and process instrumentation and controls experience required.
Requires general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Must possess outstanding organizational interpersonal and administrative skills as well as excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of basic hand and power tools and trade specific testing equipment and materials. Fluent knowledge of chemicals safety understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) sanitation and OSHA guidelines required.
Must have understanding of NFPA 70E
Must have an understanding of 40CFR Part 75 and Part 60 environmental regulations.
Language Skills:
Ability to read analyze and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals maintenance instructions and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.

The noise level in the work environment is typically loud. When on the casino kitchen or property floor or some back of house areas the noise level increases to loud. Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry Team Members must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
Team members may be expected to work outside and may be subject to all weather conditions and subject to varying levels of cold heat humidity precipitation wind noise and vibration. Work may be performed in and or around electrically or mechanically energized equipment. May be required to work in elevated places on ladders lifts catwalks and staging inside and outside of the building. Proper precautions and procedures must be taken including the use of appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
