Across our 60 locations we provide programs in a variety of service areas including workforce development children youth families seniors and homeless prevention.
Our family shelters are safe welcoming spaces where families can stay temporarily while they work toward long-term stability. Program staff provide compassionate support life-enhancing services and community-based resources to help empower each family. Together we guide families on their journey back to independence and into permanent housing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise security personnel
- Train security staff in safety measures on a regular basis
- Ensure Fire drills; are conducted for each shift monthly
- Recommend security measures and equipment to the facility director
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Meet with facility and social services director on a regular basis to report any unusual incidents
- Ensure compliance mandated reporting involving incidents
- Submit staff time sheets and monitoring of time and leave for all security staff.
- Submit Management Report Monthly
- Maintain a tickler file in conjunction with the human resources department on all security staff to ensure that all required licenses and certificates are current
- Attend staff training sessions
- Meet monthly with program coordinator and/or program director for supervision
- Perform additional duties assigned by the manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree required or Four years of appropriate job-related experience.
- Three years of supervisory experience in a security-related position.
- New York State Security
- Fire Safety Coordinator License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exceptional organizational Skills
- Ability to use a computer of prolonged periods of time
- Ability to stand sit crouch or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to travel within the 5 boroughs via public transportation
- Ability to climb and stand a 15-foot ladder
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and documents
- Ability to lift pull push and or move a minimum of 60 pounds
- Ability to travel in boroughs of New York City and adjacent counties in all types of weather including inclement weather
- Ability to climb up to 5 flights of stair
