Founded in 1976 Holy Cross Hospital - Davis has grown into a 220-bed hospital of choice for the flourishing communities of northern Utah. Over the years we have enhanced our care by offering a broad range of services advanced medical technology and a comfortable convenient patient experience. To meet the needs of northern Utahs growing population we opened a brand-new 16000-square-foot healthcare facility in Roy known as the Weber Campus. The Weber Campus which is convenient for patients in Ogden Roy and other neighborhoods west of I-15 currently offers emergency care radiology mammography and 24/7 laboratory services. Located in the northern portion of the Wasatch Front and only minutes from Hill Airforce Base you can enjoy quick access to Ogden Salt Lake City Antelope Island State Park hiking biking and the beautiful outdoor activities that Utah is known for.
At Holy Cross Hospital West Valley our Labor Delivery Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) unit is a close-knit team dedicated to providing exceptional birthing experiences. Delivering around 250 babies annually our unit includes seven private rooms a three-bed triage area and an OR for C-sections. Two of our labor rooms are specially equipped as natural birthing suites for mothers choosing unmedicated deliveries. Following birth mothers and babies transition to postpartum/well-baby care where couplet care is encouraged to keep families together. We occasionally support GYN and Med-Surg overflow patients adding diversity to our care. Our team is family-oriented passionate about learning and values work-life balance through flexible scheduling. Reporting to the department manager the Perinatal Safety Specialist is responsible for the implementation promotion support and oversight of perinatal patient safety and quality of care initiatives and programs. This specialized nursing role combines clinical expertise with a focus on patient safety to provide high-quality care and support to pregnant women and their families adhering to departmental institutional regional and Federal clinical and ethical standards. The perinatal safety nurse will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance perinatal care processes and outcomes contributing to a culture of safety within the healthcare facility. The primary responsibility of the perinatal patient safety nurse is to promote safe care for mothers and babies by keeping patient safety as a focus of all unit operations and clinical practices.
Travel is required between Holy Cross Davis and Holy Cross West Valley.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day qualified candidates will need the following:
Education Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing required
- Masters degree or higher preferred
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years as a clinician in Womens Services
- A minimum of 1 years of project experience in Women and Infants Perinatal Safety with 2 years preferred
- Experience with quality improvement/process improvement techniques project/program management experience required
Licenses/Certification Requirements
- RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
- Certification in one of the following (must obtain within 6 months): CCRN-NEO C-EFM RN-BC MCN RN-BC-PERI RNC OB GYN NEONATAL RNC-LRN RNC-MNN RNC-NIC RNC-OB C-EFM C-ONQS
- BLS required
- NRP within 90 days
Physical Requirements
- Light Work - (Exert up to 10lbs force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs frequently and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
