Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)- PRN

Who we are:

Kindred Hospital Philadelphia - Havertown and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is 66-bed hospital offering the same in depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital but for an extended recovery period. With 57 long-term acute care(LTAC) hospital beds we partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. Similarly our nine-bed ARU is designed for people who have experienced the debilitating effects of acute injury impairment or illness. We are in within a medical district close to Darby Creek and West Chester Pike expressway.

How youll contribute

Youll make an impact by evaluating and treating patient populations for swallowing speech-language and therapy needs. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills to directly impact patient wellbeing.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.

Additional requirements include:

  • Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with PA Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire

About the position

  • Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Essential Functions Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patients condition.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Plans and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows students and other support personnel.
