Essential functions of the position include:
- Operate a Vacuum Truck with a CDL
-Operate heavy equipment such has loader skid steer excavator
-Perform operation of wastewater treatment system including a clarifier and granular activated carbon filtration system
-Monitor gauges meters and controls and adjust as necessary
-Monitoring liquid levels at cell risers lift stations and storage tanks
-Operate valves pumps engines generators and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) for monitoring and adjust flows during the treatment process
- Inspect and monitor various leachate collection treatment systems and equipment
-Responsible for detecting possible equipment malfunctions and taking appropriate response actions
-Maintain necessary logs
-Perform house keeping of all leachate systems
-Assist other departments of the landfill operation
-Must fulfill the departmental overtime requirements
-Perform other related duties as required
-ability to assist in emergency responses that may occur on the Landfill
Qualifications
-H.S. Diploma or GED required;
-Valid Michigan Drivers License required
-Mechanical ability necessary to analyze monitor and repair equipment
-Ability to follow directives accurately and thoroughly and work without close supervision
-Ability to perform manual labor; ability to work in adverse environmental extreme weather and field conditions
