We are seeking Firmware Engineer(s) I at the Marlborough Massachusetts site.

You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary group of System Hardware and Software Engineers. We are a growing business developing new products in an aggressive and competitive market. The new designs are exciting and technically challenging.

We have openings supporting programs for our US military and various international customers keeping the world safe from foreign threats. As aFirmware Engineer I you will be a member of an Integrated Program Team (IPT)) creating complex firmware solutions implemented in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) System on Chip (SoC) and Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLDs). Development activities may also include laboratory integration test and evaluation fault isolation of prototype hardware and system qualification testingsupport. This position may require occasional business-related travel.

What You Will Do:

  • Generate firmware requirements based on the system architecture

  • Generate firmware documentation that describes the firmware architecture

  • Design HDL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog) based digital logic circuits that are structured and readable

  • Build test benches to verify/test the HDL based design

  • Generate constraints for target device (FPGA/SoC/CPLD)

  • Create scripts to automate build integration and test activities.

  • Verify target device functionality in laboratory environment (multi-meters oscilloscopes and logic analyzers)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a issued security clearance is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizensare eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Curriculum geared towards embedded systems

  • Previous co-op/internship/projects experience implementing and verifying firmware

  • Familiarity with C/C HLS or UVM

  • Familiarity with programmable logic development tools (e.g. ISE Vivado Quartus II Libero Synplify)

  • Linux scripting experience (bash shells make files Tcl Python)

  • Familiarity with source control (e.g. GIT SVN ClearCase)

The salary range for this role is 55000 USD - 107000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
