Job Summary

Sous Chef Luxury Lodge Ceres Western Cape

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join a luxury lodge in Ceres Western Cape. This live-in role offers an opportunity to work alongside the Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences in a high-end hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations ensuring food quality presentation and consistency

  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff fostering teamwork and professional development

  • Contribute to menu planning and development incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients

  • Monitor inventory manage stock and control food costs

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene health and safety regulations within the kitchen

  • Support the Head Chef in maintaining organisation efficiency and high standards of service

  • Assist with food preparation for a la carte buffet and special events as required

Requirements:

  • Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within luxury hospitality

  • Strong leadership organisational and communication skills

  • Creative and detail-oriented with a passion for high-quality cuisine

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain professional standards

  • Willingness to live and work in a remote lodge environment

Package:

  • Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

  • Live-in position
