Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team. This permanent role offers self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance fostering predictability in your work-life balance. Our culture emphasizes mutual respect and collaboration among surgical staff along with continuous investment in equipment to ensure patient safety and workflow efficiency. On-call duties are required during select non-business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery and provide patient/family education regarding the procedure and perioperative process.
- Prepare patients for surgery including intravenous therapy preoperative medications and surgical site verification.
- Participate in surgical site verification processes including briefing time-out debriefing and adherence to universal protocols.
- Recognize and respond promptly to patient emergencies.
- Deliver high-quality patient-centered care while integrating evidence-based practices and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary surgical team including providers surgeons and surgical technologists.
- Consistently apply nursing process critical thinking scientific judgment technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
- Assess patient condition monitor throughout the shift and document changes along with care provided.
- Educate patients and families/caregivers on medical condition treatment and follow-up measures.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent OR RN experience (Scrub/Circulating).
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Education: Registered Nurse Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
