Sterile Processing Coordinator Contract-to-Hire (Evenings)

Location: Long Beach California

Position Summary

The Sterile Processing Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of sterile processing to ensure quality compliance and efficiency. This role provides leadership and technical guidance to the SPD team ensuring surgical instruments are properly decontaminated assembled sterilized and distributed according to standards and facility protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of sterile processing staff on the assigned shift.
Monitor all aspects of decontamination assembly sterilization and distribution processes.
Ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards IFUs and facility SOPs.
Conduct quality assurance checks and maintain complete documentation.
Train mentor and evaluate SPD staff supporting ongoing professional development.
Manage equipment maintenance calibration and troubleshooting in coordination with maintenance teams.
Oversee inventory management and ensure adequate supply levels.
Collaborate with surgical services materials management and infection control to meet operational goals.
Promote a safe and compliant work environment in all SPD operations.
Support continuous quality improvement and performance monitoring.

Qualifications (Legally Required)

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current CRCST certification required.
Minimum 2 years of recent sterile processing or SPD leadership experience.
Preferred: College degree or 3 years of supervisory experience; CIS or CHL certification preferred.

Shift Details

2nd Shift:(Evenings)
13-week contract-to-hire assignment with potential for permanent placement.
