Overview
The .NET Developer Senior will play a critical role in designing developing and maintaining web-based applications that support the operations of the DC Government and its partner agencies. This role requires a service-oriented mindset strong ownership of assigned projects and the ability to proactively manage and resolve issues within defined SLAs.
The successful candidate will collaborate with internal technical teams business analysts and client stakeholders to analyze requirements design innovative solutions and deliver reliable scalable systems using the latest .NET Framework Core technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop test and deploy robust .NET applications using .NET Framework and .NET Core.
- Design and maintain web applications using MVC architecture and Razor Pages.
- Write and optimize C# code for performance scalability and reliability.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Manage database interactions using ORM tools and SQL Server; write complex queries stored procedures and scripts.
- Participate in cloud deployment and integration activities particularly within Microsoft Azure environments.
- Analyze and document business objectives prepare technical specifications and develop test plans.
- roubleshoot debug and enhance existing applications to meet evolving business requirements.
- Collaborate with business users analysts and senior management to understand challenges and recommend solutions.
- Participate in Agile development cycles contributing to sprint planning code reviews and deployment processes.
- Maintain strong version control and code documentation practices using GitHub and Visual Studio.
- Proactively escalate issues that cannot be resolved within agreed timelines and ensure consistent communication with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in software development with a focus on .NET Framework and .NET Core.
- Strong expertise in C#.NET MVC architecture Razor Pages and SQL Server.
- Demonstrated experience in web application architecture object-oriented design and relational database design.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs Azure cloud services and Agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Visual Studio GitHub and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Familiarity with JavaScript jQuery and other front-end technologies.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients senior management and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Certification in any of the following areas is preferred: Development Azure Developer Associate or related disciplines.
- Experience with iText SQL Developer and Agile project management tools.
- Prior experience supporting government or public sector projects is a plus.
