Salary: $120000 - 160000/year
The Commercial Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day on-site management of construction activities ensuring projects are completed safely on schedule within budget and according to plans and specifications. This role requires strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills as well as a hands-on approach to managing subcontractors site logistics and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities including scheduling coordination and supervision of subcontractors and field personnel.
- Ensure all work is performed safely following company safety policies OSHA standards and site-specific safety plans.
- Manage daily jobsite operations including layout inspections materials delivery and quality assurance.
- Maintain project schedule by coordinating work sequences and proactively identifying potential delays or conflicts.
- Conduct daily and weekly site meetings with subcontractors project management and clients as needed.
- Review and interpret drawings specifications and submittals to ensure construction meets design intent and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager on cost control change orders and schedule updates.
- Maintain accurate daily reports logs and documentation of site activities.
- Foster a positive team environment with clear communication between field and office personnel.
- Ensure jobsite cleanliness organization and professional appearance at all times.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as a Superintendent (or Assistant Superintendent) in commercial construction.
- Proven track record managing projects such as office buildings retail centers schools healthcare facilities etc..
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods scheduling and blueprint reading.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g. Procore Bluebeam MS Project or equivalent).
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
