The Central Office Assistant will partner in the discipleship and instruction of students to provide a high quality education with the Gospel and a Biblical Worldview as its foundation.

General Description

Nampa Christian Schools is seeking a Groundskeeper to start as soon as possible.

Reporting Structure

This position will report to our Maintenance Director.

Position Type

This is a year round salaried position. Salary based on experience.

Requirements

Required Spiritual Qualities

It is expected that the Groundskeeper will

Acknowledge Christ as Savior and seek to live life as His disciple.

Believe the Bible to be the inspired the only infallible authoritative inerrant Word of Godour standard for faith and practice.

Believe and actively support the schools statement of faith.

Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by his or her prayer life Bible study and spiritual outreach to others.

Be a Christian role model in attitude speech and actions toward others (Luke 6:40). This includes being committed to Gods biblical standards for sexual conduct.

Evidence the fruit of the Spirit in dealing with people.

Share the Christian faith with others.

Have a Christ-centered home.

Actively participate in a local Bible-believing church.


Required Professional Qualities

It is expected that the Groundskeeper will

Be able to: stand for extended periods of time squat and kneel regularly lift 50 pounds

Apply pesticides for the purpose of controlling insects and weeds in accordance with established procedures. Assist other grounds and maintenance workers as needed and/or assigned (e.g. pouring cement etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that department and building grounds and maintenance needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

Clean landscaped areas and other school locations as needed and/or assigned (e.g. playgrounds parking lots sports fields stadiums etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that assigned areas remain safe and functional and removing trash and debris.

Maintain landscaping grounds fences etc. (e.g. cleaning pruning mowing snow removal etc.) for the purpose of maintaining around two campuses in an aesthetic safe and functional manner.

Maintain playground equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition in compliance with established guidelines.

Monitor sprinkler systems and landscaped areas (e.g. school grounds sports fields etc.) for the purpose of identifying repairs and/or replacement needs and providing an attractive environment.

Operate a variety of grounds keeping equipment (e.g. mowers trimmers etc.) for the purpose of maintaining grounds.

Perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed (e.g. grounds keeping equipment shop areas etc.) for the purpose of ensuring needed equipment is available in a safe operating condition.

Plant a variety of landscaping materials (e.g. lawns shrubbery flowers etc.) for the purpose of keeping the grounds attractive and protecting against erosion.

Repair irrigation systems and components (e.g. valves wiring O-ring electronic timers switches timer motors panels etc.) for the purpose of ensuring equipment and/or components are in proper working order.

Request materials supplies equipment and/or support personnel for the purpose of completing assignments in a timely manner. Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage vandalism injured and ill students alarms etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.

It is expected that the Groundskeeper will

Understand the importance of discernment discretion and confidentiality in the operation of the classroom and school.

Develop and maintain rapport with students parents and staff by treating others with courtesy patience friendliness dignity respect and a good sense of humor.

Recognize her or his mistakes and take measures to correct them.

Be a team player.

Use acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speak with clear articulation.

Respectfully submit and be loyal to constituted authority.

Make an effort to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of the community.

Place her or his school ministry ahead of other jobs or volunteer activities.

Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness modesty and good taste consistent with school policy.
