| A rapidly growing manufacturer in the paper packaging industry is seeking a Senior HR Manager to lead people strategies and drive a high-performance culture in a 24/7 unionized production environment. The ideal candidate brings deep labor relations experience proven leadership in manufacturing settings and a hands-on approachable style that supports both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day operations. What you will be doing: -
Serve as the key liaison between leadership and union representatives leading grievance investigations arbitration processes and contract initiatives -
Champion employee relations culture and engagement efforts ensuring fair and timely resolution of concerns -
Coach and support supervisors and plant leadership on employee development performance management and talent planning -
Oversee recruitment onboarding and retention strategies for hourly and salaried roles to meet 24/7 production needs -
Lead and develop a team of three HR professionals while advancing talent safety and continuous improvement initiatives -
Ensure compliance with employment regulations and maintain accurate HR reporting and analytics -
Drive safety and wellness programs in collaboration with EHS -
Track key HR metrics and recommend improvement strategies to support operational excellence -
Provide proactive communication and support change management efforts across the facility Experience you will need: -
Bachelor’s degree in HR Business or related field (or equivalent experience) -
5 years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (HR Generalist/HRBP/HR Manager) -
Strong union labor relations experience including grievance administration and contract interpretation -
Experience in paper/pulp or other heavy manufacturing environments preferred -
Broad knowledge of HR functions including compensation benefits compliance and talent development -
Proven leadership ability with experience managing HR teams -
Excellent communication relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills -
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong sense of urgency with a hands-on people-first leadership style |
