Youllplayan important rolein petslives byprovidingend-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care offacilitatingoutpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care advocate for pets and educate clients.
- With each hospital functionassistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
- Assistwith surgeries and proceduresin accordance withyour states Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance onThrive Membershipoptions medications andadditionaltreatments.
- Assistinmaintainingrelevant comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques follow standard protocols and sustain clean sterile organized treatment areas exam rooms and labs.
- Be willing to guide mentor and support fellow team members.
- Collect and handlelab samplesrunin-houselab work
- Positionforand takeradiographs
- Have basic knowledge of vaccines and medications
- Registered Veterinary Technician Applicants
- Induceandmonitoranesthetic patients
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- is outgoing and personable
- is empathetic and compassionate
- has excellent communication and customer service skills
- has at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital
- is a team player
- Bonus*holds a CA RVT license or actively working towards licensing
- knowledge of basic veterinary practices procedures and terminology
- ability to appropriately handle lift and restrain animals (dogs cats pocket pets etc.) and stand forlong periodsof time.
- ability to perform veterinary medical procedures ( radiology IV catheter placement drug calculations administering medications & fluids and assessing & triaging patients).
- hasbasic organizational and computer skills.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience withanhourly pay rate starting at $24-32/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.
