Basic Function:
Provide primary health and emergency care to students and staff in the absence of the regular school nurse.
Education and Experience:
Appropriate certificationas a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. Current certificationsin First Aid CPR or other areas of need. Computer typing and office organization skills preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary able to sit for extended periods of time but may involve walking and standing (periodically as required) is able to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds (25 lbs.).
- Dexterity finger movements (computer keyboard calculator) eye-hand coordination (office equipment etc.)
- Auditory and Visual Requirements within normal range with or without correction.
Other Certifications:
- Relevant criminal histories and child abuse clearances.
- Highly qualified status
- Valid PA Drivers License
- Must exhibit high levels of problem solving skills for overall efficiency and productivity in the school environment.
Mental Demands:
- Must have a steady response to unpredictable situations.
- Must demonstrate independent judgment and discretion in making decisions as well as collaboration skills and interpersonal skills in working with students staff and administration.
- Must be able to manage multiple student needs.
