What youll do
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Campus Principal as the Academic Chair for the School of Business and Creative Industries you will:
- Lead the delivery of Business Administration and Business Analysis programing at the Ivany Campus ensuring the highest standard of quality and consistency in programing while supporting student success.
- Lead and manage approximately 20 to 25 faculty and staff associated with business programs at Ivany Campus.
- Be a key member of both Campus and School teams with shared accountability for ensuring a quality-learning environment for students and employees.
- Ensure students receive quality academic programming ensure students have access to services and supports to make informed decisions on educational and career plans goals strategies course planning and recovery policies and procedures including appeals.
- Be responsible for the delivery of NSCC programming as well as leading the campus delivery of customized and continuing education programming which will include evenings and weekends; on and offsite.
- Use your established relationships in business related sectors regionally and locally to inform programming and opportunities for students.
Your strategic and operational leadership is key to ensuring the objectives of programs offered by NSCC are met through efficient and effective management of all fiscal and human resources while endorsing the application of adult education principles and portfolio learning within a safe work environment in a learning-centered college.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in a field related to the School of Business and Creative Industries. A Graduate Degree would be considered an asset.
You have a minimum of seven (7) years (full-time equivalent) of recent and progressive occupational experience in a field related to the School of Business and Creative Industries including experience in business and entrepreneurship
You have a minimum of five (5) years (full-time equivalent) in a formal supervisory role. Experience in your field includes leadership/management and formal teaching at a post-secondary level.
You have experience managing physical and financial resources in order to ensure effective service delivery. Experience managing in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite including MS Teams and OneNote e-mail SharePoint and enterprise management systems such as People Soft.
You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.
You have some experience in training/facilitation preparation delivery and evaluation in post-secondary environment or educational environment.
