Jio is seeking an experienced OSBL Electrician for a contract-to-hire position in Jamnagar. This role is suitable for mid-level professionals with 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting within industrial operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Electrical Maintenance (Mandatory skill) with hands-on expertise in industrial maintenance activities ensuring strict adherence to safety and operational protocols in critical plant environments.
- Troubleshooting (Mandatory skill) with proven ability to identify diagnose and repair complex electrical faults to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Preventive Maintenance experience in executing scheduled inspections checks and replacements to extend the lifespan of plant electrical assets and prevent unplanned failures.
- Deep understanding of motor controls including installation configuration diagnosis and repair of variable frequency drives and other control systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of switchgear systems including operation inspection and safety measures required for high reliability in power distribution.
- Experience with PLC programming to support automated processes conduct program modifications and collaborate with control engineers for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong compliance with safety and regulatory standards consistently following company and legal guidelines in all electrical activities and risk assessments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills allowing seamless collaboration with engineers supervisors and multi-disciplinary teams for project execution and troubleshooting.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance inspection and repair of OSBL assets and equipment as per preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for optimal plant performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults including wiring control panels and power systems ensuring rapid restoration of operations in compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct installation commissioning and maintenance of motor controls and switchgear to ensure uninterrupted plant utility and ancillary operations.
- Support PLC programming activities including diagnostics program uploads/downloads and minor code changes to optimize process automation and address technical issues.
- Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities inspections and repairs to support regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with operations engineering and safety teams to implement work permits isolation procedures and safety lockouts for electrical jobs.
- Interpret technical drawings electrical schematics and manuals to execute maintenance and troubleshooting tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to all environmental health and safety guidelines participating in toolbox talks training sessions and continuous improvement activities as required by Jio policies.
