Summary

Assiststherapists and therapy assistants in preparation and treatment of patients receiving therapy services. Performs routinetasks asassigned by therapists and therapy assistants.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care as requested by therapist:

  • Transportsandtransferspatientsobservingsafety precautions and good body mechanics.

  • Following competency testing applies therapeutic modalities as assigned by therapist

  • Carries out specific treatment activities under direction/supervision of primary therapist or assistant.

  • Monitors patient response to treatments and provides written/verbal feedback totherapistand therapy assistants.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly workplace:

  • Acquiresand replaces equipment and supplies in proper place following treatment.

  • Cleans andmaintainsequipment according to department infection control policies and procedures.

  • Maintains storage and inventory of equipment and supplies.

  • Maintains adequate clean linen supply and changes linen in

  • accordance with established guidelines.

  • Maintains treatment areas in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Assistsinmaintainingcharts filing and retrieving records asrequested.

  • Functions as patient advocate andmaintainspatient confidentiality.

  • May order andmaintaininventory as assigned by supervisor.

  • Performs one or more of the following duties according to program need:

  • Organizes andmaintainspatient chargeable equipment inventory.

  • Maintains training equipment.

  • Assumes patient care and clerical duties under therapist direction across all inpatient programs and/or disciplines.

Customer Service Responsibilities

Responsibilities in Quality Improvement

Contribute byidentifyingproblems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible;participatesin departmental efforts tomonitorand report customer service.

Essential Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Possesses andmaintainsCertified Emergency Nurse Accreditation (CENA) &Basic Life Support for Health Care Providercertification to meet department/program protocol.

  • The ability to communicate in both written and verbalformat.
