Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in grounds landscaping and tree maintenance/removal.
- Valid Florida drivers license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four (4) years of experience in grounds landscaping and tree maintenance/removal.
- Valid Florida Class A commercial drivers license (CDL with air brakes endorsement.
- Proven experience successfully supervising business/department functions.
Relevant experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of the planting and care of trees shrubbery flowers and grass as they relate to the maintenance of school sites.
- Knowledge of policies procedures and regulations pertaining to the position.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff faculty students and the community in a service-oriented environment.
- Ability to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics blueprints and grounds diagrams.
- Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing guidance and motivation while establishing goals and expectations of accountability.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIALJOBFUNCTIONS:
- Execute all required responsibilities of a Sites Worker as needed.
- Support in coordinating grounds maintenance landscaping and tree maintenance/removal at District facilities.
- Regularly update school personnel on the progress of work orders through on-the-job observations and feedback from site staff.
- Assist in instructing personnel on performing specific tasks as needed.
- Use basic district computer applications for communication training and record-keeping.
- Notify the supervisor of any problem areas or issues in work completion.
- Ensure compliance with equipment maintenance schedules.
- Assist in the hiring and training of new personnel.
- Work effectively under the pressure of tight deadlines personnel shortages and multiple requests.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Any job-related duties as assigned.
