Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a Level 1 Trauma and Acute Care Facility. This position involves providing pre- and post-operative nursing care for pediatric patients recovering from surgery and anesthesia.
Schedule Details:
810 hour shifts over a two-week period
Mix of day and evening shifts within the same pay period
Weekend rotation required
Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in a PACU/critical care environment
Perform pre- and post-operative assessments and interventions
Monitor patients vital signs and recovery progress following anesthesia or surgery
Administer medications and assist with pain management as prescribed
Collaborate with anesthesiologists surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams
Ensure compliance with hospital policies procedures and safety standards
Document all patient care activities in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Qualifications:
Active RN license in New York State (required)
Current BLS certification (required; must be eligible for renewal)
Minimum of 1.5 years of recent (within 2 years) experience in an acute care or critical care setting of similar size and level
Previous pediatric critical care experience required
PACU experience preferred
EPIC EMR experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must pass pre-employment health screening drug screening and background checks
Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
No history of license suspension or professional liability issues
