Position Summary
The Vice President of Finance is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial strategy operations and reporting. This role is central to ensuring that Daylight continues its long-standing legacy of innovation and performance through rigorous financial planning and execution. The VP will provide forward-thinking financial leadership while also ensuring day-to-day excellence in budgeting forecasting cash flow management and team development.
This is a high-impact onsite leadership role offering full visibility across operations and meaningful influence on the companys next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the finance accounting and FP&A teams with clear direction and operational alignment
Oversee month-end close internal and external financial reporting and compliance with GAAP
Drive the budgeting forecasting and long-range planning processes
Support margin analysis pricing strategies and lane profitability assessments
Partner with the CEO and executive leadership on capital planning investments and strategic growth initiatives
Ensure strong internal controls audit readiness and tax compliance
Manage treasury cash flow and working capital to support national operations
Enhance ERP systems reporting tools and real-time dashboards
Provide financial leadership during negotiations with customers vendors and partners
Mentor and develop finance team talent for scalability and succession
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or related field; MBA and/or CPA highly preferred
10 years of progressive financial leadership ideally with at least 3 years in a senior/executive role
Experience in the transportation logistics supply chain or related operational industries is strongly preferred
Hands-on experience with cost analysis operational finance and KPI tracking in high-transaction environments
Proven track record of building scalable finance functions and leading cross-functional initiatives
Strong systems orientation (ERP financial modeling dashboards Excel BI tools)
Executive-level communication skills with a strategic mindset and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach
