Xcel Energy has an opportunity for a Driver / VanOperator inthe Meter Reading FieldServices departmentbased out of theLipan Transportation Center in Denver CO. This is a full-time position that has a 120-day probationary period. Valid drivers license and a safe driving record are required.

Summary

Operate Automated Meter Reading Van and computer equipment. Drive designated routes to obtain gas and electric meter readings. May include occasional overtime. Duties Include:

Drive meter reading routes safely to obtain meter readings from automated gas and electric meters.
Complete daily assignments while achieving performance goals.
Communicate by phone with Meter Revenue Technicians and Supervisor to report on route status and irregularities.
Assist Meter Revenue Technicians and Supervisor by reporting information and making suggestions to improve daily read rate performance.
Responsible for ensuring that company vans are kept clean.
Accountable for driving safely in all weather conditions.
Perform daily safety inspection and operating condition of company vans. Notify Meter Revenue Technicians and Supervisor if van maintenance is required.
Must be team oriented.
Responsible for projecting a positive company image at all times.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent
Accuracy courtesy and cooperative attitude
Neat appearance
Good driving record with valid drivers license
Knowledge of windows operating system
Ability to understand safe work practices

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $33.03 per hour
