Job Summary
o Troubleshoot electrical problems carryout repair and installation work on all equipment location:
Mill building
Bulk and packing loadout
Grain elevator building
All other buildings and equipment on the compound
Any external jobs as instructed by Management that will benefit the plant operations.
The Electrician will be expected to:
o Prepare and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all electric motors and carry out periodic checks.
o Carry out checks on and re-calibrate scales whenever necessary.
o Installation and repair of electrical equipment and machinery.
o Monitor and maintain all electrical lighting.
o Inspect all air compressors electrical components.
o Work closely with Maintenance technicians and production crews to ensure that down time is kept to a minimum.
o Ensure that the bulk loadout and packing equipment is working efficiently and repair as needed.
o Check motor controls centers for various machines and service them when required.
o Change motors and the belts/chains on motors as required.
o Service/repair/replace field devices such as sensors limit switches and other monitoring equipment.
o Troubleshoot problems and effect necessary repairs.
o Respond to call outs for electrical and other types of breakdowns.
o Respond to requests for safety repair jobs.
o Assist in preparing orders for machinery parts.
o Perform any other maintenance related task which may be necessary from time to time.
Other requirements;
o All safety gears PPEs must worn as required and follow all safety rules and regulations. Failure to follow safety rules will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
o Attend all safety training sessions.
o Provide all needed hand tools (rated for electrical work). Power tools will be provided by company.
o Perform any other maintenance duties as instructed by supervisory or management staff.
