Patient Demographics: Adults and children with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders

Patient Volume/Census: 1216 hours of outpatient visits per week

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Conduct psychiatric assessments/evaluations and mental status examinations

Provide ongoing medication management

Develop and implement individualized mental health treatment plans

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active CA medical license

Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (Certification required within 5 years of residency)

DEA: Active DEA Certification

Certifications: Must be eligible for MediCal/Medicare certification

Experience: Prior experience with patients with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders preferred

Other Qualifications: Proficiency with EMR systems; strong communication and documentation skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform psychiatric evaluations assessments and MSEs for referred patients

Provide diagnoses according to DSM guidelines and ongoing medication management

Document findings and complete medical records as required

Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with the Medical Director nurses clinicians and case managers

Deliver services via telehealth (Zoom) and in-person at least one day per week

Participate in quality improvement and performance programs as requested

Educate families and caregivers on treatment plans and psychiatric conditions

Prepare necessary legal or court-related documentation when appropriate
