Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026 Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service Peninsula Health Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health a newly merged health service with more than 22000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce providing new training education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026 all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
Department
Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.
About the role
The newly integrated Adult and Older Adult Service combines AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services to provide comprehensive person-centred support for adults and older adults. We offer a wide range of therapeutic addiction trauma-informed and family violence services.
In line with the Royal Commission into Victorias Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 we are expanding our services to provide specialized expertise and broad-spectrum care including pathways for substance use rehabilitation recovery and trauma-focused care.
Our approach focuses on integrated treatment education peer support care planning and navigation supporting individuals at every stage of their recovery journey.

What youll be doing
You will join a team of 4 other Senior Clinicians and a Senior Mental Health Support Worker who work together to provide the AMAH Adult service with a single point of entry for consumers between the age of 25 65.
You will be assessing referrals and will assist with short-term support consultations and liaison with the community. Your team is responsible for providing face to face one off assessments as well as secondary consultation and education to primary health providers. The team assists with internal referrals and the movement of consumers throughout the community program.
