Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times. The role of the Strand Technician responsibilities includes but are not limited to performing all tasks associated with operating the process in the casting and refractory area: mold operations ladle operations tundish operations and assembly control panel robot operations assisting maintenance as necessary coordinating caster operations with those of other addition the Strand Technician must ensure that all dimensions and identification for billets are accurate through the process to ensure traceability. Additionally will maintain manual and auto torches and ensure product through the cooling bed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 months previous steel mill experience
- 6 months prior casting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current or previous experience working in Melt Shop
- 1 Year Casting Experience
