Quality Lead

Basic Job Functions:

The Quality Lead oversees the Division Quality Programs to ensure that all internal and external customers receive the highest quality products and services possible through the direction of the plant Inspectors and direct communication with all division departments.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the division QMS to include the NBG Group Quality Manual.
• Work with division teams to instill ownership and support continual improvement.
• Work with third-party accreditation/certification companies to ensure audits are conducted on time and that we are complying with quality standards.
• Report on division outcomes of quality audits.
• Work closely with NBG teams to ensure consistency company-wide. Some off-site meetings and audits are required.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• General knowledge of plant operations and process flow.
• Working knowledge of measuring instruments.
• Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight for training audits and conferences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI).
• Prior quality control experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to operate plant mobile equipment as necessary.
• ASNT - NDT Certification in UT and/or MT
