Job Summary


A Brief Overview

Reporting to the Director Global Engagement the Agreements and Partnerships Specialist resides in the Office of the Vice-Provost Global Engagement. This role supports the international strategy for Queens University by preparing and processing international academic agreements and assisting with the development of global partnerships and programs. The incumbent liaises with external partners legal counsel and other internal units to structure and complete agreements and to prepare required documentation for a wide range of global engagement programming. The incumbent assists on partnership development tasks including research and data collection and works with program leads to develop global programs as assigned. The incumbent assists with the maintenance of software related to agreements management identifies and implements process improvements and works in support of the units partnership officers in gathering and analyzing data related to international academic partnerships.

As the incumbent has regular contact with international partners this position requires diplomacy excellent cross-cultural communication skills and a high degree of customer service orientation. The incumbent should be action-oriented and demonstrate strong attention to detail and project management skills. The schedule for this position may occasionally require the incumbent to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

This position oversees the preparation and administration of academic mobility agreements including the tracking of their establishment and renewal. This position collaborates with stakeholders to ensure the efficient management of the agreement process.

Job Description

What you will do

  • Manages the establishment and renewal of academic mobility agreements between the university and international partner institutions.

  • Drafts edits finalizes and proofreads agreements. Initiates and/or prepares correspondence to partners.

  • Liaises with legal counsel to ensure contracts are in compliance with legal requirements.

  • Negotiates changes in language for agreement renewals with partnering institutions and determines the appropriateness of the changes in consultation with the faculty international staff Associate Deans or Deans as appropriate.

  • Administers and manages the online contract management system tracking agreements for renewal and retention in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Provides support on strategy evaluation and implementation of projects relating to internationalization student programming and/or conferences and events.

  • Manages data and research for reporting on Queens international targets.
  • Liaises with faculty international staff privacy officer and others as required for agreement processing.

  • Identifies inefficiencies in processes and collaborates with stakeholders to address.

  • Communicates legislation and institutional policies surrounding academic mobility to stakeholders across the university and coordinate process updates where appropriate.

  • Liaises with international organizations of which Queens is a member and implements internal processes and programs.

  • Develops concepts for on-campus events facilitate Queens participation in activities abroad and complete information requests from partners.

  • Maintains and strengthens connections with selected Queens networks and partner institutions in support of the universitys international objectives.

  • Conducts research and prepares reports summaries and correspondence.

  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education
  • Four-Year Bachelor Degree or addition requires trade certification qualification or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
    Required Experience
    • More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
      • Experience working at a post-secondary education institution considered an asset.

      • Experience in contract management including one or a combination of drafting negotiating executing and/or amending contracts is considered an asset.
    Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
